Capturing the Magic: Marvin's 80th Birthday, a Surprise to Remember

I had the pleasure of capturing the joy and excitement at Marvin’s surprise 80th birthday party, held at the charming Henry on 11th in downtown Columbus, Nebraska. Let me tell you, the Peterson family knows how to throw a bash!

As the festivities unfolded, the air was filled with laughter and the warm embrace of family. The best part? The secret mission to get Marvin there without raising any suspicion! The family cleverly concocted a plan that he was simply “looking at some property.” A retired realtor wouldn’t suspect a thing, right? The moment Marvin walked in and saw all the familiar faces, the surprise was priceless! You could see the joy on his face, and I was there to capture it all.

Throughout the party, we snapped some absolutely wonderful extended family photos. The Petersons radiate love and togetherness, and it was an honor to photograph such a beautiful family. Each click of the camera captured not only the smiles but the bonds that tie them together.

We also made sure to have some fun candid shots, needing no direction as the kids played and family members shared stories and laughs. There’s nothing quite like the magic of family moments, especially when they’re celebrating a milestone like Marvin’s 80th birthday!
